Split, a city under UNESCO protection, is called by many "the most beautiful in the world". This eternally young city with about 300,000 inhabitants in the wider area, which gives it a warm Mediterranean temperament, has been living its urban rhythm for 1700 years, abounds in many cultural and historical monuments, and one of the best examples is the widely known Diocletian's Palace.
The palace is the most significant monument of Roman architecture on the east coast of the Adriatic. It was built around the year 300, and has a shape of an irregular quadrangle. The peristyle is the central free space of the palace. On the east side of the Peristyle is the mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian, today the Cathedral of St. Dujma.
Split is located in the warmest area of the northern coast of the Mediterranean, in the center of the Adriatic coast. Its mild climate with 2700 hours of sunshine a year, turns it into an oasis in the middle of winter where you can enjoy the sun in the lee.
Trogir, a city like a palace: many poets have tried to describe in words the fascination with the historic city of Trogir. And they all concluded: one must experience it, inhale its scent, in order to love it. But when they did, they fell in love with him once and for all. The stone houses, nurtured with much love, exude deep peace. And the play of light and shadow, which changes not only daily, but almost every hour, weaves every visitor into its network, both in the squares, which are always crowded with people from all over the world, and in countless streets, which seem to be quite abandoned. This phenomenon makes us want to stay here forever. In 1998, Trogir was not declared a city of world cultural heritage in vain.
